Men and women with loose skin and fat accumulation in the abdomen can benefit from abdominoplasty. Abdominoplasty improves the body contour because it accomplishes a flatter and stretched abdomen. The incisions are usually done in areas that can be covered with underwear and bathing suits. The lines will "fade" with time but will remain visible. A straight incision is placed directly on or even inside the pubis. If there is flabbiness on the navel there might be need for a second incision around it. To stretch the abdomen walls, the plastic surgeon brings the loose underlying tissue and muscles together with sutures. Loose skin is pulled downwards and the is excess is removed. A small incision is made for the navel, whose position remains unchanged.
